XPLite Windows Component Removal Application
Microsoft included in its operating sistem a lot of programs and services which we
don't really use in everyday work with our computer. But we have a solution here right now
to make Windows XP fat free. Australian company LitePC made a program which should
be already made by Microsoft itself. I am talking about XPLITE.

XPLite can remove
various Windows components. It works in Windows XP and 2000. Free version of the program
can show you which components can be removed and paid version removes those components.
Windows components are shown like groups : accesories, communication, server components
etc...XPLite tells you what each component is for and you decide if you want to remove
it or not. Program also shows us how much free space will we gain by removing components.
In times when 100 GB disk is not uncommon it seems like this is really not useful application
but there is more. If we free Windows XP from all those components which we dont use we get lots of
free memory. Windows cleaned in that way are a lot quicker. It is really useful for
computers with less RAM. But watch out when you remove components because there is no
way back once you burn new Windows XP cd-rom. Especially watch out for Windows XP services.
You can visit
LitePC Home Page and get
it for $40 or you can wait couple of days and see review of free open source competition
i am reviewing at the moment. Well I would wait and not pay $40 for application which I can get free.
