Preparing for the Yearly Christmas Party
Even though Christmas is still a few weeks away, I have been getting things ready for our yearly party. It is a small gathering of about twenty of us, and we have been meeting regularly each year for the past twenty years or so. It is a tradition in our family, which means that preparing for the Christmas party is very important.
One year I made the mistake of not creating a list of what needed to be done, and I missed one of the most important things at the party: the
Christmas candy. That year I just about had a riot on my hands. But I have learned my lesson, and now I make a list and get preparations underway early to ensure that I don't forget anything.
I don't know if you have ever organized a party, but there are a lot of things to consider. Food is always top on the list, but there are beverages, song sheets to create, decorating to be done and invitations to be sent out. I really wish we didn't have to mail out invitations since the people coming each year are the same, but my husband insists that we send them out because they are a tradition.
It will take most of my free time over the next two weeks to get everything ready for the Christmas party, but I am starting to get excited. For me, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, and working on the party arrangements puts a smile on my face. I can't wait until Christmas Eve!
