Australians Loyal To Microsoft Products
Apple has long been the nemesis of Microsoft, but in the last few years the company has gained a lot of ground with consumers. Before, Apple users were mainly in the audio, visual or tech related industries, but now you will find soccer moms and retired people using iMacs and Macintosh
desktop computers almost as much as you will find them on Microsoft computers. The key word there is almost. Although Australians in particular have fallen in love with Apple products, they just can't seem to break their loyalty to Microsoft.
In a recent study, Australian users named Apple as their favorite manufacturer of
laptop and desktop computers. Perhaps because Apple has a whole score of compatible peripherals that make mobile usage more convenient, or maybe because the company has a better service warranty plan, but consumers are flocking to Apple for their personal computing needs. At the same time, more users in Australia are partial to Microsoft based operating systems. When it comes to computer systems, there's just something about continuing to use a product that you are familiar with, even if there are better options available. Microsoft has been releasing a much larger amount of operating systems in recent years, most likely because they are trying to regain customers lost to Apple. Microsoft has been criticized of having a monopoly on the operating system software industry, but Linux, and now Apple with their popular Solaris operating system, have largely been able to meet consumer demands better. Apple computers are regarded as having better accessibility capabilities, and once new customers learn to use all the tools available, they are able to execute tasks more easily. The fight is long from over, but as of now, Microsoft is continuing to get pummeled. Besides Australian consumers, studies show that customers in other countries are not big fans of Microsoft's newest line of products.
