One Man Making a Success of Himself
While the story of the self made man is always an attractive one for the media to seize upon, there are few instances where it is quite so poignant as it is in the case of
Samuel Foti, a man who grew up as the son of a metal hose manufacturing company owner and then went on to return to help that company.
Even in his earliest school days, Mr. Foti knew that he wanted to get ahead in life and give back for the life his father provided for himself and the family. He knew he had to get good grades and as a result of those early efforts he was able to get into the Wharton School of Business from which he graduated in 1974. He pursued further studies in the form of a Masters degree in Finance and Investments at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Arts and Science after passing up the University of Oxford where he had considered a law degree. Having found his true joy in life, Mr. Foti came back to his father's company and set about instilling the new values he had learned in school, quickly transforming the company into a top tier of the metal hose manufacturing world.
By applying his profound mind to the task, Mr. Foti quickly rose up the ranks in the life insurance sector of the market where he had decided to pursue a career. It wouldn't be long before he ascended to the presidency of the The MONY Group, a major player in the global economy. Despite all of this success,
Sam Foti has managed to find ways to give back that are meaningful. Today he is a Venture Capitalist with an eye towards the future, helping startup companies get the funding they need to see success in today's highly competitive global business climate. He brings to bear not only a sound work ethic and understanding of business, but the heart of a champion with worldly wisdom to back his optimism.
